Important Update Regarding 2025 W-2 Reporting
Union leadership met with company representatives today to discuss several items, including the reporting format of the 2025 W-2 forms.
Please be advised that for the current tax year, overtime earnings are not categorized separately from gross pay on your W-2. According to the Payroll Supervisor, the IRS does not require employers to provide a separate calculation for overtime for the 2025 tax year.
However, the IRS intends to update the W-2 format for the 2026 tax year to include dedicated lines for overtime reporting, at which point the company will be required to provide this breakdown. In the meantime, we recommend consulting with a tax professional to ensure your 2025 overtime is accurately calculated for your tax filings.
